Born and raised in Miami, crossing a bridge without looking into the water for something, anything, was unfathomable even today. Says nothing of what seeing that first permit swimming at did to me. The hunt became an obsession which in turn became a way of life, guiding being the inevitable result. It's the best "job" in the world.

I spend most of my time on the back of the boat now. A coach and teammate to those up front. No matter how many times I've seen the scenarios play out, they never get old. The thrill still there, like that first time and just as exhilarating. The failures making the successes that much greater. Anxiously, as always, waiting for the next one to swim my way.
